College Scholarships

BAUMC College Scholarship for Graduating High School Seniors

Scholarship application for graduating high school seniors is available from the wall rack by the Welcome and Information Desk. The application is also posted on the church website. Deadline for submission of the application and all related material is April 25.

This scholarship is offered to BAUMC high school seniors who will be entering their first year of college in the fall. Scholarship determination is based on:

• Church Involvement (membership, participation, activities attended, volunteer and/or leadership roles)

• Academic Achievement (GPA/class rank)

• Character (recommendations, community involvement, and outside employment)

Scholarships will be formally awarded on Graduate Recognition Sunday, June 3, at the 9:20 a.m. services. Recipients are requested to be present to receive the award.

Pay It Forward Scholarship

Application for the BAUMC “Pay It Forward Scholarship” is posted on the church website. Deadline for submission of the application and all related material is April 25.

Application for the BAUMC Pay It Forward Scholarship

This endowed scholarship provides funding for individuals seeking education beyond high school including traditional higher education, trade school, apprenticeships, or job training/retraining/certification programs. Applicants may be:

  • individuals currently in the workforce;
  • unemployed individuals;
  • high school graduates;
  • GED completers.

Preference is given applicants who:

  • Attend Bel Air United Methodist Church.
  • May be unable to continue schooling without financial assistance.
  • Will attend or are attending a local community college, trade school or apprenticeship program.

After the initial award, the scholarship may be renewed. Successful applicant(s) will be encouraged to apply for renewal in succeeding years and must show evidence of successful progress in working to complete the program of study.
